Through advanced technology and refined surgical techniques, Dr. Ebbie Soroudi has become a recognized leader in modern vision correction.
As a board-certified ophthalmologist and keratoconus specialist, Dr. Soroudi has performed more than thirty thousand procedures. Soroudi Advanced LASIK & Eye Centers offers Topography-Guided PRK for the treatment of keratoconus.
Keratoconus is a condition in which the cornea gradually weakens and protrudes outward, altering its natural shape. This distortion can cause blurred vision, eye irritation, and heightened sensitivity to light. At Soroudi Advanced LASIK and Eye Centers, keratoconus is diagnosed through a comprehensive eye examination using advanced diagnostic tools at our Beverly Hills and Los Angeles locations.
Topography Guided PRK is considered the most effective treatment for this condition. The procedure uses a detailed map of the corneal surface to guide laser correction and improve the overall shape and visual clarity of the eye.
Dr Soroudi is internationally recognized for combining surgical precision with an engineering-based understanding of eye structure. Every Topography Guided PRK procedure begins with a thorough consultation to evaluate your corneal anatomy and visual goals. Based on this evaluation, Dr Soroudi designs a customized treatment plan and clearly explains the preparation process.
Our team is fully committed to providing patients with the most current technology and an exceptional level of care. Patients from around the world seek treatment here due to our individualized approach and consistent outcomes.
All procedures are performed in our private Medicare-certified surgical facility, equipped with the latest ophthalmic technology. This controlled environment allows for comfort, safety, and precision throughout your treatment.
Topography Guided PRK is designed to be gentle and efficient. The procedure is painless and typically completed quickly. A specialized excimer laser is used, guided by a highly detailed map of your cornea. Advanced software interprets this data to deliver an extremely accurate and personalized correction.
Your procedure is performed in the privacy of our in-house surgical suite, where you will be attended by Dr Soroudi and his experienced medical team. After the treatment is completed, you may return home with assistance from another adult.
Vision is expected to be blurry immediately following treatment, and rest is important during the initial healing period. Medicated eye drops will be prescribed to support recovery. Most patients find that over-the-counter pain relief is sufficient, if needed at all.
You may shower the day after your procedure, provided you wear a protective eye shield. A follow-up visit is scheduled for the next day so Dr Soroudi can monitor healing progress.
As the cornea heals, temporary watering of the eyes or light sensitivity may occur and typically resolves within several days. Strenuous physical activity should be avoided to prevent sweat from entering the eyes. Swimming, hot tubs, gardening, and dusty environments should be avoided for at least two weeks.
Most patients can return to work or daily routines within approximately 1 week, although healing times vary. Vision continues to improve gradually, with most patients achieving optimal results within 6 months.
